Military and Veterans

Veterans and their families have sacrificed much to protect our freedom and way of life. Unfortunately, many return home to face serious health issues, homelessness or difficulty finding jobs. A growing number of female veterans are returning to civilian life with unique challenges. Ford Fund is proud to support veterans by helping them train for new careers, providing transportation for medical visits and sponsoring events that salute their courage and service.

Ford and Disabled American Veterans have a 97-year relationship that began when Henry Ford provided Model T's so DAV members could attend their annual convention. Ford continues to invest in Disabled American Veterans through scholarships, a winter sports clinic and vehicle donations to the organization's transportation network.

Bunker Labs is a national network of military veteran entrepreneurs dedicated to helping former service members start their own businesses. Ford Fund supports the Muster Across America Tour, Bunker Labs’ annual tour across the United States empowering local entrepreneurs and providing access to funding.
Military Workshop
San Diego-based Workshops for Warriors receives support from Ford Fund to train, certify and provide skilled trades work experience for transitioning military service members to develop careers in advanced manufacturing.

Ford Focus on Freedom provides special viewing of the Ford Fireworks for veterans, active-duty military members and their families.

Ford is a major sponsor of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum, now housed at the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History in Detroit. In 2007, Ford sponsored the celebratory reception where the Tuskegee Airmen received the Congressional Gold Medal of Honor in our nation’s capital.
