Disrupt and Deliver: Showing Up for Seniors

DETROIT — Teams from across Ford collaborated to design and launch an autonomous fresh food delivery pilot program which brought 10,000 pounds of fresh food to the doorsteps of senior citizens in Southwest Detroit. Ford Fund, along with the autonomous vehicle and Michigan Central teams worked together to harness the full power of the organization's expertise and resources to bridge the area's gaps in access to fresh food and transportation.

The food delivery service leveraged the Ford Fund's existing operations and infrastructure in the community, which delivers healthy foods from the Ford Resource and Engagement Center throughout Detroit's southwest neighborhoods. While this pilot has come to an end, for residents who live in the area interested in receiving additional fresh food deliveries, please call 313-806-0370.
